The Brief
Solaris Energy needed to pivot from a "local utility provider" image to a "global clean energy tech company." They needed a brand system that could scale across digital platforms, hardware app interfaces, and physical marketing.
Design System
We developed a fluid design system based on the gradients of the sun. The typography pairs Space Grotesk (technical) with Editorial New (human) to balance technology with nature.
Deliverables
- Logo Suite: Responsive logos for favicon to billboard.
- UI Kit: A comprehensive Figma library for their product teams.
- Motion Guidelines: Defining how the brand moves in digital spaces.
Brand Assets
The logo uses a custom variable font that animates based on the time of day—expanding at noon and condensing at sunset. This dynamic identity lives on the company's digital dashboard, reflecting their solar output in real-time.
Result
The rebrand contributed to a successful Series B raise of $50M, with investors citing the "mature and visionary" brand presentation.
